Privacy Policy

Battle Jacket Wall (“BJW,” “we,” “us”) helps members record concerts, collect digital patches, build digital jackets, and share selected parts of their live-music history. This policy explains the information involved and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: display name, profile handle, email address, password hash, and account preferences.
• Location preferences: an optional hometown, home location, or search ZIP code used to prioritize nearby events and calculate distance. It is not displayed publicly as a precise home address.
• Music history: shows, attendance status, artists seen, followed artists, earned patches, jacket arrangements, and milestones.
• Content you provide: memories, captions, ratings, photos, lineup corrections, event submissions, and artist-logo submissions.
• Technical and safety data: IP address and request information used for login protection, rate limiting, security, troubleshooting, and aggregate service analytics.
• Ticket activity: when you follow an outbound ticket link, we may record the event, referral location within BJW, and time of the click. BJW does not receive your ticket-provider payment details.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, personalize event discovery, verify and display concert history, award patches, render Walls, process submissions, protect the service, communicate account matters, improve BJW, and measure outbound ticket interest.

Public and private content

Profiles are private by default. You choose whether to publish your profile, each Wall, and each memory. Publishing a profile does not automatically publish private Walls or memories. Anything you make public can be viewed and shared by others, so avoid including sensitive personal information.

Service providers and external sources

BJW uses third-party services to supply or enrich event, artist, artwork, and location information, including Ticketmaster, MusicBrainz, Fanart.tv, Zippopotam.us, and hosting or email providers. When you search by ZIP code, that ZIP code is sent to Zippopotam.us to obtain approximate coordinates; no BJW account information is sent with it. Successful ZIP lookups may be cached for up to 90 days. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer.

Retention and account deletion

We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, legal obligations, backups, and service integrity. You can permanently request deletion from My Profile. Deletion removes your account and personal history from the active service, although limited records may remain temporarily in backups or where legally required. Public catalog facts and de-identified contributions may be retained.

Your choices

You may edit your profile, change profile and content visibility, update your hometown and discovery radius, unfollow artists, remove memories or Walls where available, or delete your account. You may also contact us to request access, correction, or deletion assistance.

Security and age

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. BJW is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes and contact
